Officer Anthony Miller Sentecned 5 Years for Child Porn

A police officer, who lives in western Wisconsin, is sentenced to serve time in prison for possessing child pornography.

Monday, Anthony T. Miller was sentenced to five years in prison. He lives in New Richmond, but works in Minnesota. He has been a police officer with the city of Hastings for 11 years.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice says Miller admitted downloading and trading child pornography for the past two years.

NEW RICHMOND - Anthony Miller, who told investigators he was a Hastings Minnesota police officer, was sentenced by Judge Vlack today on two counts of Possession of Child Pornography. He received 14 years on the first count with 4 years of initial confinement and 10 years of extended supervision. On count two Miller received 15 years with 5 years of initial confinement and 10 years extended supervision to be served concurrently.

In addition, Miller must provide a DNA sample, register as a Sex Offender, not use a computer or access the Internet without prior written approval, not possess pornography and may not have contact with any child under 18 without prior written approval.

Miller was originally charged on December 18, 2008 with Possession of Child Pornography and Sexual Exploitation of a Child.

"Sadly, a man sworn to protect society has committed a crime victimizing our most vulnerable," said Wisconsin Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen, whose office investigated the crime with the U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement and the New Richmond Police Department. "Today's sentence sends a strong message: download and distribute child pornography and you will go to prison for a long time."

Arnold Fred Hussong Accused of Sexually Assaulting 11-year-old

A 90-year-old Okabena man accused of allegedly assaulting an 11-year-old girl sexually was released on his own recognizance Tuesday with the condition he have no contact with his victim or anyone under the age of 18.

Arnold Fred Hussong was charged Tuesday with first-degree criminal sexual conduct and terroristic threats. When asked by authorities if he “went too far,” he replied, “Absolutely, absolutely.”

According to the criminal complaint, authorities in Jackson County were contacted Sunday about a possible sexual assault that had been reported in Okabena.

The girl’s mother said a neighbor had brought her “very upset” daughter home a short time before. The girl told her mother Hussong had pulled her by the hair, tied her up on his bed and touched her inappropriately. She said Hussong also threatened to kill her with a gun if she told anyone.

During an interview with authorities, the girl said she was gardening with Hussong, then they went into his house to watch TV. She said he grabbed her by the hair and dragged her onto a bed.

Hussong allegedly took her clothes off and used a thin cloth blanket to tie her up. The girl said she was screaming for help when he tied her hands. She told authorities she tried to fight back, and kicked him away several times.

The girl reported there was a long gun he loaded bullets into and threatened to kill her if she told anyone. Hussong allegedly touched her inappropriately, but she said he did not penetrate her. She said he took off his clothes while he was touching her, and eventually fell asleep on her.

She said he let her go, and she ran to a neighbor’s house.

Authorities obtained a search warrant Monday and went to Hussong’s home, where they found him sitting on a riding lawn mower in his yard.

When an officer asked Hussong if he knew why they were there, Hussong replied that he did. At first, he could not remember the name of the girl that had been at his house the day before, but he said she is a nice girl.

He told the officer he has a very loving nature and shares his love with people. There should be more of that in the world, he said.

When asked how he showed the girl his love, Hussong said he gave her $2 for different things and gave her a rod and reel out of his shed.

When asked if he showed his love physically for the girl, Hussong said he gave her hugs and kisses and had kissed her on the lips the day before. He allegedly stated he had never dreamt he would go too far. Everyone was telling him, he said, that he went too far. He admitted to many of the allegations the girl had made, but denied that he ever asked her to touch him.

The search warrant was executed and authorities confiscated the bedding, including a lightweight white bedspread. A search of the room showed no firearms present, but two firearms were taken from the garage, as well as the loaded .22 shells that were in the rifle.

Hussong has an initial court appearance Monday in Jackson County District Court.

Dennis Michael Lemke Sentenced 30 Years for Making Child Porn

Sartell man Dennis Michael Lemke, was sentenced Thursday by District Court Judge for 30 years and a life of supervised release. Lembke, 43, pleaded guilty to one count of production of child pornography as in April of 2006 he knowingly engaged a child under the age of 12 in sexually explicit acts to create pornographic images.

Lembke was originally suspected when a six-year-old girl who attended the day care that Lemke’s wife ran told her mother that she had been molested in October of 2006. In February 2007 investigators took a computer, electronic storage media and digital camera from his St. Cloud home on which investigators found a large number of explicit images of children. Lembke was jailed in July of 2008.

Dennis Lemke Sentenced to 360 Months for Producing Child Porn

A 43-year-old Sartell man has been sentenced to 360 months in prison for producing child pornography at the home where his wife runs a day care.

Dennis Michael Lemke was also sentenced to supervised release or life after a judge found him guilty of taking numerous photographs and videos of young children.

St. Cloud Police received a complaint in October that Lemke had inappropriately touched a girl, and a search warrant was granted to search Lemke's home.

FBI agents arrested Lemke just during a traffic stop in St. Cloud.

According to court documents, a camera seized from his home contained about 300 images of child pornography, and Lemke appeared in some of the photos.

Tylar Hokanson Charged with Murder After Shaking Baby

The Dakota County Attorney's office has charged a Northfield man with the death of his 17-month-old stepson.

Tylar James Hokanson, 22, faces one felony count of murder in the death of Nicholas Miller, who died on June 23 -- four days after Hokanson apparently shook him hard enough to cause the boy's injuries.

"The death of a child under circumstances of alleged abuse such as this is deeply disturbing," Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom said. "This case remains under investigation at this time."

The criminal complaint filed Wednesday with the Dakota County Attorney's Office said Hokanson, 22, admitted to shaking Nicholas, days before the boy died from multiple injuries that included damage to his brain.

An autopsy by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office found the boy had died as a result of multiple blunt force injuries. It also showed the boy had a cracked skull and multiple rib fractures.

The complaint said Hokanson admitted that on June 19 he shook Nicholas "back and forth" by grabbing him by the shoulders after the boy had started throwing a fit. Hokanson told investigators he had been angry because his wife's sister had been mean toward him.

By Saturday, Nicholas did not want to stand on his feet, eat or play with his toys, according to the complaint. At lunch time, the boy refused to eat pizza, one of his favorite foods, and later "appeared to be crying for no reason," according to the report.

On Sunday, the boy appeared to be pale, would not lift his arms and would not use his legs at all. His mom told investigators he looked like a "noodle" and simply sat on the furniture most of the day, leaning his head back.

Hokanson and his wife had gone to the home of Hokanson's mother and stepfather in Maiden Rock, Wis., on Monday, and called 911 the next day because the child was having trouble breathing.

Nicholas was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital in Durand, Wis.

Hokanson is currently being held at the Dakota County Jail. His bail was set Wednesday at $500,000, or $350,000 if he agrees to not contact Nicholas' family. Hokanson's next court appearance is July 27.
