A 29-year-old west suburban man has been charged with possession of child pornography following an undercover Internet sting operation by Wheaton police detectives.
The investigation, conducted along with the DuPage County Sheriff’s E-Crime Unit, resulted in the arrest on July 31 of Daniel M. Plume, 29, of Lombard on a charge of possession of child porn, according to a release from Wheaton police.
Plume was being held in the DuPage County Jail on $250,000 bond, the release said.
Police had no additional details available Tuesday.

Jimmy Dill Arrested for Child Porn
A 37-year-old northwest suburban man faces child pornography charges after a search of his home revealed personal computer items that allegedly contain images of child porn.
Last week, Huntley police arrested Jimmy J. Dill, 37, of 10809 Cape Cod Ln. and charged him with five counts of possession of child pornography, a Class 3 felony, according to a release from the Illinois Attorney General's office. Dill is being held in the McHenry County Jail.
Investigators from the AG’s High Tech Crimes Bureau assisted Huntley police in executing a search warrant at Dill’s home, resulting in the seizure of numerous computers and hard drives believed to contain child pornography, the release said. Earlier this year, the High Tech Crimes Bureau alleged that Dill was offering child porn over the Internet.
The McHenry County State’s Attorney’s office will prosecute the case.

John Jeter Charged with Sexual Abuse on 13-year-old
A 42-year-old Camden man has been charged with subjecting a 13-year-old girl to sexual contact, according to state police.
John A. Jeter, of Taberg Florence Road, was charged Friday with second-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child by state police investigators assigned to the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.
Jeter was arraigned in Camden Town Court and sent to the Oneida County jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or bond. He is scheduled to appear in Florence Town Court on Aug. 11.
Members of the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation and arrest.
Gary Olivas Arrested for Child Porn
A 60 year old Clarksville man has been arrested on Child Pornography charges.
Gary Olivas was arrested Monday afternoon.
According to the affidavit, an investigator with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force at the Franklin Police Department was conducting an online undercover investigation and discovered someone was sharing several images and videos of sexual abuse images involving young
children.
When the Internet address was determined to be located in Clarksville, the TBI was contacted and joined the investigation.
TBI agents were able to determine that the suspect hacked into an unsecured wireless network to trade child pornography over the Internet.
TBI agents searched Olivas' home and seized several computers which are being analyzed.
Officials say preliminary results show that Olivas was in possession of thousands of images of known child pornography.
Agents say they found more than 1,700 files of child pornography on the three compact discs evaluated so far.

Abrneris Santiago's Case Will Proceed to Grand Jury
The case of a mother accused of keeping her three children starving in a hotel bathroom for at least nine months will proceed to a grand jury, a judge ruled Tuesday.
Judge Terrie McVea ruled during an examining trial that there was probable cause for a grand jury to consider indicting Abneris Santiago. A Dallas grand jury will likely get the case this month.
Santiago, 30, is charged with one count of injury to a child, and prosecutors have said they would likely add two more counts this week.
Police and a relative found Santiago's three children shut inside a hotel bathroom last month. The 11-year-old girl and her 10- and 5-year-old half brothers were emaciated and filthy, requiring hospitalization for 10 days. The doctor who examined them said the children appeared to have been starved and that their condition was life-threatening.
The 11-year-old said she had been sexually assaulted, and the eldest son was covered in bruises from a beating authorities said was delivered by his mother's boyfriend.
James Jamison, Santiago's attorney, said he expected the ruling and that he requested the optional examining trial to get a preview of the state's case.
"It's relatively easy to show probable cause," Jamison said.
The mother's boyfriend, 37-year-old Alfred Santiago, faces charges of aggravated sexual assault and continuous sexual abuse. Three additional charges of injury to a child likely will be filed against him, Assistant District Attorney Eren Price said.
The Santiagos, who remain in the Dallas County Jail, are not married but have the same last name. The three older children have different fathers. The youngest child is the daughter of both Santiagos.
Alfred Santiago's attorney was out of town Tuesday and did not immediately return a message left by The Associated Press.
Abneris Santiago, wearing thick glasses and a gray-and-green-striped jail uniform, declined to make a statement during the court hearing. She has not spoken publicly about the case, turning down repeated requests for interviews from jail.
During the hearing, Santiago appeared alternately sad and defiant. She lowered her head and blinked repeatedly as Dallas police detective Lisette Rivera described the condition of her children when they were found July 2. Santiago shook her head in disagreement when Rivera said the 11-year-old girl had told her mother that she had been sexually abused for three years.
"She did not realize the child was being sexually assaulted," Jamison said of his client. "She feels victimized. She feels abused. She wishes she could have mustered the strength to do the right thing sooner."
Rivera, the only witness questioned during the hearing, said the family lived in the Budget Suites of America hotel for nearly a year. The suite had a bed, a couch and a crib. The three older children spent day and night inside the bathroom, she said, and never attended school.
"Nobody knew (they were there)," Rivera said. "They never went out."
Rivera also said the children were so starved that their brains had atrophied. The siblings and their 1-year-old half sister, who was found healthy, later were placed together in foster care.

Ralph Walls Guilty of Possessing Child Porn
A Clinton man pleaded guilty Tuesday to possession of child pornography after police found child pornography images and videos on his computer in December.
Police found 15 videos and five images displaying child pornography on a computer belonging to Ralph Walls, 60, according to his plea agreement.
Walls faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison for receipt of child pornography and 10 years in prison for possession of child pornography, followed by supervised release up to a life sentence, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Maryland.
A search warrant for Walls' home was obtained in December after an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent in Louisiana found Walls was sharing more than 200 sexually explicit files online.
The initiative is part of Project Safe Childhood, launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat child sexual exploitation.
Walls' sentencing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Nov. 9 in U.S. District Court in Greenbelt.
Walls' attorney, Timothy Sullivan, did not immediately return calls Tuesday.

Trial Begins for David Durling Accused of Sexual Assault
Opening arguments were made this morning in the trial of a Vineland soccer coach charged with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child in 2004 and 2005.
The charges against David Durling, for incidents that allegedly happened on camping trips and overnight stays with three 10- and 11-year-old boys he coached in soccer, were based on statements by the children.
Assistant Cumberland County Prosecutor Dara Paley, in her opening statement, described Durling as "the man that all three boys trusted and all three considered to be their surrogate father ... (who) betrayed the trust of all three boys."
"I guess we can all go home now," said Durling's lawyer, Carmen DiMario, in his opening statement.
"The prosecutor wants you to be stupid. They would be happy if you said, 'Child molestation. Guilty'," he said.
DiMario called it "one of the worst-investigated cases I've seen in my life."
First on the witness stand in the afternoon was Vineland Detective Louis Negron.

A 16-year-old has been arrested and accused of downloading child porn, police said.
Robert Livingston, of Palm Beach Gardens, had his first appearance at a hearing in front of a judge on Tuesday morning. He has been charged with 48 counts of possessing child pornography.
In a probable cause report, an investigator working undercover said he found a computer Internet provider address that was sharing multiple child pornography videos.
The detective sent a subpoena to the Internet provider and obtained an address to a Palm Beach Gardens home.
Investigators said the teen admitted to downloading the videos. Many of them included files of pre-teen children.
The judge granted bond at $500 for each count and ordered the teen to house arrest with no contact with any children and no access to a computer.
Livingston will only be allowed out of the house to attend school. He is scheduled to begin 11th grade at Dwyer High School in two weeks.

Barry Morris Arrested for Sex Act with Minor
Greece Police have charged a Greece Central School District teacher for a criminal sex act and for endangering the welfare of a child.
Police arrested 63-year-old Barry Morris, a 4th grade teacher at West Ridge Road Elementary, on July 31 and he was send to the Monroe County Jail until he posted bail.
The alleged incident involves a 14 years of age and younger.
According to Greece School Superintendent Steve Achramovitch, Morris has been placed on paid administrative leave. Achramovitch also said the alleged incident did not occur on school property and it did not involve a student that Morris teaches.
Morris has been a teacher for 35 years with 19 years at West Ridge Elementary.

The Bay County Sheriff's Department Frank McKeithen arrested a Panama City man for charges relating to the possession of child pornography.
Kevin J. Russ of Panama City, was arrested after investigators identified him as using the internet to download files of child pornography. Russ became a target in late July and enough information was gained during the course of the investigation to execute a search warrant on his home this morning.
During the search, Russ’ computer was found. An examination of the computer yielded numerous video files of child pornography, to include children under the age of 10 involved in sexual activity.
Russ was transported to the sheriff’s office and after an interview there, he was booked into the Bay County Jail for four counts of Possession of the Sexual Performance of a Child. He will go to first appearance tomorrow.

Igor Nasonov Indicted for Distributing Child Porn
A federal grand jury in Louisville returned an indictment against Igor Nasonov, age 33, of Louisville, Kentucky, in Jefferson County, for distributing and possessing child pornography using his computer and a file sharing program. Nasonov was charged in a Criminal Complaint filed in United States District Court in Louisville, Kentucky, with distribution and possession of child pornography, Acting United States Attorney Candace G. Hill for the Western District of Kentucky announced today.
Acting United States Attorney Candace G. Hill praised the efforts of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Louisville Metro Police Department, Crimes Against Children Unit (CACU) for their effective response to these very serious offenses.
The Affidavit
According to the affidavit filed in federal court in Louisville on July 10, 2009, by Special Agent with FBI, the images of child pornography showed young children including infants in various sexual acts. On April 29, 2009, an FBI Agent with the Richmond Virginia Division of the FBI, using an Internet connected computer, launched a publicly available P2P file sharing program. The Agent queried a network of friends and observed that an individual using the username “Daddyof3” was logged onto the network. Previously, Daddyof3 sent the Agent a friend request, allowing the Agent to view and download files from Daddyof3’s computer that Daddyof3 selected to share with other users.
The Agent browsed Daddyof3’s shared folders and observed that Daddyof3 was sharing approximately 30,000 files. The Agent proceeded to browse Daddyof3’s shared folders and observed numerous image and video files depicting child pornography. The Agent selected seventy-two (72) images and a video file of child pornography and began to download these files directly from Daddyof3’s computer. Agents were able to determine the IP address of "Daddy of 3."When reviewed, all seventy-two (72) image and video files depicted child pornography, that is, the images showed minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.
On June 10, 2009, the Louisville FBI and other law enforcement agents executed a federal search warrant on Nasonov’s residence in Louisville, Kentucky. Agents observed numerous computers and performed a preliminary image scan of the computers that revealed thousands of images and movies of child sexual exploitation. In addition, Agents located and observed images matching the images that were distributed as described above and digital movies of child sexual exploitation involving an infants.
In the event of a conviction, Nasonov faces a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of 5 years. The maximum potential penalties include 30 years’ imprisonment, a $250,000.00 fine, and supervised release for a period of at least 5 years and could include life.
This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Joshua Judd and it is being jointly investigated by the Louisville Metro Police Department Crimes Against Children Unit and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

A Twin Falls man has been charged in 5th District Court with possessing child pornography.
Dwayne E. King, a 38-year-old long-haul truck driver, was arraigned Friday on 20 counts of possession of sexually exploitive material.
Police said they found four hard drives in King's home containing exploitive images and videos of children as young as 2.
If convicted, King faces up to 15 years in prison for each count.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Friday in Twin Falls.

Kenneth 'Jack' Hendryx Sentenced to 10 Years for Child Porn
According to a Shoshone County Sheriff release, local sex offender Kenneth "Jack" Hendryx was sentenced to 10 years fixed in prison and 15 years of very strict supervised release.
Hendryx was arrested in 2008 for possession of child pornography, the report continued, and charged as a result of an undercover online investigation by the Shoshone County Sheriff's Office and the FBI.
Shoshone County Sheriff's Office is continuing to work with local federal agencies to try and curb the new crime trend of child pornography.
So far in 2009, the sheriff's office has investigated a large number of child pornography cases compared to years past, the news release said, and enhancements in online tools allowed the department to find people who possessed or traded the pornography.
Citizens are asked to contact the sheriff's office if you have any knowledge of someone possessing or distributing child pornography or any child being a victim of abuse.

Kyle Gregory Speed Charged with Possession of Child Porn
A substitute teacher from Colorado Springs has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Denver on charges of transportation and possession of child pornography Tuesday.
According to the indictment, on July 2, 2008, 52-year-old Kyle Gregory Speed of Colorado Springs, traded two video files depicting children engaging in sexual intercourse on his computer. In addition, the indictment alleges that between July 1995 through January 16, 2009, Speed possessed three different computers containing child pornography. Speed is also alleged to possess a 1 GB thumb drive containing child pornography.
Speed made his initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Denver Tuesday afternoon, where he was advised of the charges pending against him. He is scheduled to appear next in Court on Friday, July 31, 2009, for arraignment and a detention hearing. He faces seven counts in the indictment. Counts 1 and 2 alleged that he transported child pornography across state lines. If convicted, he faces not less than 5 years, and up to 20 years in federal prison, as well as a fine of $250,000 per count. Counts 3 through 6 alleged that Speed possessed child pornography. If convicted on those counts, he faces not more than 10 years imprisonment, and up to a $250,000 fine per count. In addition, Count 7 is the asset forfeiture count.
"The U.S. Attorney's Office will continue to prosecute child predators, especially those who prey on their victims from a position of trust," said Acting U.S. Attorney David Gaouette.
"All children have an absolute right to grow up free from the fear of being sexually exploited," said Jeffrey Copp, Special Agent in Charge of the ICE Office of Investigations in Denver. "And children should never have to fear those who are supposed to protect them. ICE will relentlessly pursue anyone who sexually exploits our most vulnerable asset, our children," Copp said.
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice. Eric Ison Jones Sentenced for Scalding his 1-year-old Son
A 37-year-old Salt Lake City man has been sent to prison for scalding his 1-year-old son in hot bath water three years ago at the Taylorsville home of the boy's mother.
Eric Ison Jones was charged in 3rd District Court with second-degree felony child abuse for the Nov. 1, 2006, crime. He pleaded guilty to a lesser count of third-degree felony child abuse, and was sentenced to zero to five years in prison.

Jones --- who had only recently learned he was the boy's father -- burned his son, Malachi Marsalis, while watching him for the boy's mother.
The mother, Genoria Marsalis, has told The Salt Lake Tribune that after she returned and Jones left, she removed the boy's pants and diaper and his skin started peeling off.
The boy was in critical condition for several months with third-degree burns. He was later released from the hospital, but he still faces more surgeries.

Eric Ison Jones was charged in 3rd District Court with second-degree felony child abuse for the Nov. 1, 2006, crime. He pleaded guilty to a lesser count of third-degree felony child abuse, and was sentenced to zero to five years in prison.
