A Belleville man was charged Friday with sexually assaulting in the Frelinghuysen Middle School parking lot a 13-year-old Morris Township girl he met online, according to an affidavit filed in Morristown today.
Viktor Zhadanov, 26, faces two counts of second-degree sexual assault and two counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, according to the affidavit.
Morris Township Police Detective David Crowley, in the affidavit, said Patrolman Bruce Starnes spotted a blue 2001 Ford Explorer in the school’s parking lot on Jane Way and went to investigate.
Starnes found a 13-year-old girl in a passenger’s seat and saw the driver, Zhadanov, adjusting his sweat pants, according to the affidavit.
The officer contacted the girl’s mother, and the girl later told police “this was not the first time she met with Viktor Zhadanov," and that she performed a sex act on him on a previous occasion, according to the affidavit.
She told investigators she met him in an online char room named “Kids Chat,” according to the affidavit. She spoke with a man who went by the username “Slave” who purported to be a 15-year-old boy from Newark. She told him she was 13.
The girl first met Zhadanov after midnight on July 6 at a field near her home. Zhadanov allegedly said he “was horny” and exposed himself, according to the affidavit.
She performed a sex act on him and then she returned home while he left the area, the affidavit read.
They again met early July 7 into the early morning hours of July 8 when he picked her up, drove her to a parking lot in Morris Township, pulled down her pants and performed a sex act on her.
The girl said the two communicated both online and through cell phone instant messages, the affidavit read.
A sexual assault nurse’s examination was performed on the girl, and police obtained a warrant to search Zhadanov’s car and found condoms and a cell phone.
Zhadanov admitted to driving from his home to meet the girl, according to the affidavit.
“However, he denied knowing her age or that he engaged in any sexual activity with her,” the affidavit read.
Zhadanov was lodged in the Morris County jail in lieu of $200,000 bail.
