A 58-year-old maintenance worker has been arrested in Orange County for sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl at a Stanton laundromat, and authorities are looking for additional victims.
Nereo Del Valle allegedly lured the girl into a maintenance closet Sunday at the BJ Coin Laundry on Beach Boulevard in Stanton by promising her a bottle of perfume. Then he sexually assaulted her, investigators said.
The girl managed to escape and ran home.
Deputies arrested Del Valle on Tuesday after being interviewed by a detective from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. He is being held on suspicion of child molestation, authorities said.
Investigators said Del Valle sold perfume out of the maintenance closet and may have lured other victims using the same tactic. Detectives are urging any additional victims to call the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Special Victim’s Detail at (714) 647-7419.
