A 31-year-old man accused of sexually abusing children for years under the guise of dating single mothers has been arrested, Cook County sheriff's police said Saturday.
Kenji Haley had eluded authorities since 2007 when he was charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a child younger than 10.
The sheriff's department said it recently learned Haley was seeing as many as 10 women with young children in Cook County.
Police arrested Haley Thursday at a home in the 8700 block of South Kingston Avenue.
The department has opened an investigation into Haley regarding possible Chicago-area victims.

FBI Arrest Several Men for Distributing Child Porn

The FBI today announced child-pornography charges against four men from Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana, accusing them of operating a ring that distributed pornographic images and videos and referred to themselves by the name "Boy Lovers."
Charged are Jose Carlos Garcia, 22, of Schererville, Ind.; Neal Maschke, 40, of West Chicago; Corey Stinefast, 27, of Kenosha, Wis.; and Mark McGill, 24, of Crest Hill.
According to the complaints, the FBI began investigating the men in June after arresting one in their group. That man admitted to "possession, receipt, distribution and manufacture of child pornography," the complaint said. The man "also stated he had contacts with many other child pornography enthusiasts, some of whom were molesting children."
The man became a cooperating witness and may still face federal child-exploitation charges himself, according to the complaints.
In several recorded conversations -- in person, via phone and Internet chat -- the witness and Garcia allegedly discussed child pornography, and he and Garcia arranged to meet to exchange and view images and videos together.
In one phone exchange on July 11, Garcia allegedly told the cooperating witness that he had traveled to St. Louis and met with a man whom he filmed engaging in sexual activity with a young boy, the complaint against Garcia states.
On Aug. 25, the witness, Garcia and Stinefast allegedly went to a local amusement park, the complaint states. During the trip, Stinefast allegedly gave Garcia a computer disk containing child pornography that the witness later turned over to federal investigators.
The witness and undercover FBI investigators met with Garcia and Maschke in a hotel room in Skokie on Saturday night to exchange pornographic computer images and videos. Those two defendants were arrested at that time and were found to have child pornography with them, according to the FBI. Stinefast was arrested in Kenosha the same night.
McGill was taken into custody this morning. Officials say he gave a USB drive to the witness on Aug. 29 that contained over 3,500 images and 60 videos of child pornography.
If convicted of the charges against them, Garcia, Stinefast and McGill face between five and 20 years in federal prison, while Maschke faces up to 10 years in prison.

Charles Holbrook Arrested for Child Porn
Charles Holbrook found himself in familiar territory: under arrest for child porn for the second time in a decade.
Holbrook, who lives on Longstreet in Wyoming was arraigned today on two counts of Child Sexually Abusve Material, two counts of possession of child pornography, a weapons charge and accosting a child for immoral purposes.
Police worry there could be other victims out there.
Last Friday, Child Protective Services tipped off police; allegations of misconduct in the house owned by Holbrook, called 'Uncle Chuck' by some in the Wyoming neighborhood. Officers raided the house. Neighbor Kevin West told FOX 17 News, "I saw them throw something out, looked like a hard drive out the front door."
Police say they took dozens of bags with pornographic images of children and teens, 3 computers, and several guns, which are illegal for a felon to own. Police haven't been able to identify some of victims in the photos yet. Court records say he recently took naked photos of a child and asked a 14 year old girl to have sex with him.
Back in 2000, Holbrook was caught with child pornographic photos dating back to the 1970's. He pled no contest to third degree criminal sexual conduct. "When you think about child you think about innocence, and it's situations like this that destroy that or take that innocence away," Lt. Scott Beckman told FOX 17 News.
Holbrook faces up to 20 years behind bars if convicted. He's being held on $500,000 bond, and will be back in court August 19th.

Eduardo Torres-Franco Wanted for Molesting 3-year-old

Eduardo Torres-Franco faced six to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty earlier this month to molesting a 3-year-old girl.
But instead of appearing in a Rolling Meadows courtroom for sentencing Tuesday, the 39-year-old Palatine man skipped the hearing and likely the country.
"I can only assume he's in Mexico," Torres-Franco's private attorney, Steven Goldman, said afterward.
Cook County Circuit Court Judge Thomas Fecarotta issued a no-bail warrant for Torres-Franco's arrest and set a judgment date for Sept. 1, at which time bond he could be indicted on a bail jumping charge. Torres-Franco, of the 1700 block of Rose Street in Palatine, wasn't in custody because he previously posted 10 percent of his $100,000 bond.
On July 14, Torres-Franco pleaded guilty of criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse for crimes that took place between 1999 and 2001. Prospect Heights police said he admitted to molesting the 3-year-old daughter of a woman he dated at the time. The abuse occurred when Torres-Franco baby-sat the child, prosecutors said.
The victim came forward in February with claims of the abuse.
Goldman said he last spoke with Torres-Franco, who he said was in the U.S. illegally, during the guilty plea. He said he wasn't surprised his client fled.
"I didn't expect him here," Goldman said.

Raymundo Gonzalez Sentenced to 29 Years for Sexual Assault
Raymundo Gonzalez told Judge Daniel Shanes he did not sexually assault a young family acquaintance.
"I am not guilty," Gonzalez said Friday. "That is the only thing I have to say."
But that was not enough to dissuade Shanes from sentencing him to 29 years in prison.
Gonzalez was arrested by Waukegan police in June last year on allegations that he had sex with, and fondled a family acquaintance starting when she was 10 years old and which ended shortly after the girl turned 14.
Gonzalez, 50, of the 600 block of Elmwood Avenue, was found guilty in December on two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, two counts of criminal sexual assault of a child, and four counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
Assistant State's Attorney Jim Newman told the court that Gonzalez "assaulted the pre-teen on a daily basis that caused serious harm to her."
Gonzalez testified during the trial that his confession was forced.
Newman, who said Gonzalez confessed to police that "he had a problem," demanded that the judge remand Gonzalez to prison for 42 years.
"It will deter others from committing these offenses," Newman said. "It will be valuable to the community."
Defense attorney Jed Stone wanted the court to show leniency, considering that Gonzalez had never committed a crime and that he believed the girl concocted the tales of abuse.
"This is scary," Stone said of sending an innocent man to prison. "This abuse never happened."
Gonzalez plans to appeal the decision.

Carlos Beltran Sentenced to 20 Years for Beating His 5-year-old

A Main Township man is sentenced to 20 years in prison for his role in the beating death of his 5-year-old daughter in 2007.
Carlos Beltran pleaded guilty to aggravated battery charges. First-degree murder charges against him were dropped when he agreed to testify against his common-law wife, the woman who prosecutors say actually killed the child.
Melanie Beltran died when her mother, Mila Petrov, allegedly slammed the child's head into a wall. Cook County prosecutors say Melanie had repeatedly been abused by Petrov and her father did nothing to stop the abuse. They say that on the day Melanie was killed, Beltran helped Petrov clean up their apartment and dispose of evidence.
At the time of the killing, Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart said the case was one of the "most horrific" examples of child abuse he had ever seen.
