David Burnett Arrested for Posting Child Porn on MySpace

SEWICKLEY, Pa.

A Westmoreland County man is facing hundreds of counts related to child pornography, after he allegedly posted explicit photos on MySpace.

According to WTAE's news exchange partners at the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, police said David Burnett, of Sewickley Township, uploaded pornographic photos of a 15-year-old girl to a MySpace Web Page.

According to the criminal complaint, Burnett used his cell phone to take pictures of the victim between January and July of last year. Police said he threatened to make the pictures public if she didn't do what he wanted.

Police said he eventually posted four photos on the victim's MySpace page, the Trib reported.

Burnett is facing more than 200 counts on charges which include sexual abuse of children, dissemination of child pornography, aggravated indecent assault and criminal coercion.

Jeannette District Judge Joseph DeMarchis set Burnett's bond at $25,000.

Wyman Wright Faces Life on Child Porn Charges

A 71-year-old Saginaw man likely faces life in prison on child pornography charges.

A U.S. District Court jury in Bay City found Wyman Wright guilty Thursday, on six counts of receiving child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.

Investigators from the Mid-Michigan computer Crimes Task Force found more than 850 images or videos of child pornography on his computer hard drive. Wright had confessed to organizing the material according to various interests, such as animals, bondage and young.

U.S. District Judge Thomas Ludington set an October 26th sentencing date. Each pornography charges carries a minimum five year sentence and the possession carries up to 10 years in prison.

Keith Gillins Arrested for Sexual Assault on Minor

The former mayor of Fillmore is facing more sexual assault charges.

61-year-old Keith Gillins was charged in June with two counts of unlawful sex with a 16 or 17 year-old.

Police say the offenses happened last November while he was a teacher at Millard High School.

Those charges are now gone and have been replaced by even more, including four counts of rape and eleven counts of forcible sexual assault.

Prosecutors aren't saying if there are more victims, in addition to the single victim from the original charges.

Donald Mosley Sentenced to 40 Years for Sexual Assault

A Hunt County man will spend at least the next four decades in prison, after having been found guilty of charges of sexually assaulting a child and videotaping the encounter.

Donald Brian Mosley, 43, faced up to life in prison. He had pleaded guilty in April to one count of aggravated sexual assault of a child and one count of sexual performance by a child. He entered open pleas of guilty to both charges, meaning no potential sentence in the case had been offered or arranged.

Following a hearing in the 354th District Court, Judge Richard A. Beacom sentenced Mosley Thursday to 40 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice-Institutional Division on each count, according to Hunt County District Attorney Noble D. Walker Jr.

“We are extremely pleased with the sentences handed down by Judge Beacom,” Walker said. “Since the judge ordered that the sentences were to run consecutively, or “stacked”, the defendant will have to complete his first sentence before beginning his second sentence. As a result, the defendant will have to serve at least 40 years in the penitentiary before being eligible for release on parole.”

Mosley, who lived at a residence between Floyd and Merit, was the subject of a reported investigation by the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office after deputies received information on Oct. 10, 2008 of possible child pornography on a videotape that had been brought to the agency. Officers with the Criminal Investigation Division were contacted and reportedly determined the aggravated sexual assault of a child had occurred. During the investigation, the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the Collin County Sheriff’s Office, the Plano Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in locating additional potential victims and the recovery of computer equipment for evidentiary purposes.

Walker credited First Assistant District Attorney Steve Tittle for the prosecution of the case, and the sheriff’s office for the investigation, most notably Sheriff’s Investigator Jeff Haines, who obtained admissions from Mosley during his interrogation of the defendant.

Richard Latham Charged with Sexual Abuse

A Cortland County man is facing additional sex abuse charges for crimes that may have occurred up to four decades ago.

67-year-old Richard Latham, of Cortland, who was already facing charges of abusing a 9-year-old boy, is now charged with first-degree sexual abuse of a 14-year-old.

Investigators are interviewing people connected to the case, and say there are additional victims dating back 40 years ago, when they were Boy Scouts under Latham's supervision.

Cortland police say they have executed a search warrant at Latham’s home as part of their investigation, and seized several items, including his home computer.

Latham was placed behind bars, where he posted bail. He's due back in court on July 15.

Mary Ann Rollins Arrested for Child Abuse

A Highland Township woman has been charged with child abuse after she was found intoxicated and staggering down a road, with her 4-year-old son following far behind, police said.

Mary Ann Rollins, 47, has been charged with fourth degree child abuse Wednesday in 52-1 District Court in Novi, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.

She’ll be back in court July 15.

According to police, Rollins was found wandering down Duck Lake Road Monday, with her son following about 50-feet behind her along the edge of the road.

Witnesses told police that, at one point, Rollins passed out on the front yard of a residence, with her child crying nearby.

Once taken into custody, she was found to have a blood-alcohol level of .164%.

Her son has been placed with relatives by child protective services, according to the sheriff’s office.

Police said Rollins has a previous conviction of child neglect stemming from a 2005 incident, where she was found to have been pushing her son down the center of a roadway in a baby stroller while intoxicated.

It’s unclear whether Rollins posted bond.

John Esposito Charged with Sexual Assault

A former Netcong school crossing guard was indicted today on charges of sexually assaulting a child more than a decade ago, and exposing himself to four other children between 2004 and 2008.

John Esposito, 73, of Netcong was charged in August with aggravated sexual assault and child endangerment. Esposito was arrested after the then 15-year-old victim told a witness about the alleged sexual acts Esposito performed on her between June 1997 and December 1998, authorities had said.

At that time, Esposito, who had been a crossing guard for nearly 10 years, allegedly admitted to investigators that he performed sexual acts on the girl, who was between the ages of 4 and 6 at the time of the alleged sexual assault, authorities had said.

An indictment handed up by a grand jury in Superior Court in Morris County charges Esposito with first- and second-degree aggravated sex assault on the girl and two counts of third-degree endangering for incidents that occurred between June 1, 1997 and Dec. 31, 1998.

He was indicted also on four counts of fourth-degree lewdness that occurred between 2004 and 2008, of exposing himself in Netcong to four other children under the age of 13, according to the indictments.

Police suspended Esposito from the crossing guard post, though the criminal charges were not related to his job, authorities had said.

The lewdness charges relate to four other victims who came forward after the initial arrest, and those offenses also did not involve Esposito's position as a crossing guard, authorities said.

Esposito remains free on $100,000 bail.

Ashley Paul Norris Arrested for Rape & Sodomy of 3-year-old

A Daleville man who was out of jail on bond for first-degree rape and sodomy was charged Thursday with the sodomy and sexual abuse of a three-year-old girl, according to authorities.

A press release from the Dale County Sheriff’s Office said Ashley Paul Norris, 30, of Daleville, was re-arrested Thursday and placed in the Dale County Jail under no bond.

Dale County Chief Sheriff’s Investigator Harvey Mathis said Norris was arrested by the Daleville Police Department on April 23 for rape and sodomy.

An investigation that surfaced after the girl reported abuse to another adult led to Norris’ second arrest, Mathis said.

“Once the new allegations surfaced, the Dale County Sheriff’s Office made this case a priority,” Mathis said. “Any case involving a child is a priority.“

Norris is expected to appear before a judge soon.

Jimmie Joe Olson Arrested for Sexual Abuse of two 7-year-old Girls

A West Valley man faces four counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child after prosecutors say he abused two 7-year-old girls.

Jimmie Joe Olson, 20, was charged in 3rd District Court Thursday with the four counts, all first-degree felonies, as well as one count of sodomy upon a child and one count of rape of a child, which are both first-degree felonies as well.

The charges say that the girls said that on or about May 30, Olson pulled down his pants and underwear and made both of them touch his genitals. They both say that on that same day he touched their genitals as well, according to the charges.

Olson told police that he played a "truth or dare game" with the two girls and that they dared him to pull down his pants, the charges said.

Olson was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on Wednesday. His bail has been set at $150,000.

Deputy Michael Nix Arrested for Molesting 3-year-old

GAINESVILLE

A 20-year veteran with the Hall County Sheriff's Office has been arrested for molesting a 3-year-old girl.

Hall County Sheriff's Col. Jeff Strickland said 42-year-old Michael D. Nix was arrested Thursday afternoon following an investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

"The preliminary investigation revealed an allegation of aggravated child molestation involving a 3-year-old female that Nix's wife had been babysitting in their Clermont home," said Strickland.

He said Nix was put on administrative leave Monday when the allegations surfaced and was then terminated following his arrest.

Strickland said Nix served as an investigator in the internal affairs unit.

"It is unfortunate to have a veteran officer arrested on such serious charges, we take this very serious, therefore as a result of today's arrest the officer has been terminated and jailed," he said.

Nix is being held in the Hall County Jail without bond.
