Peeping Tom Paul Klinck Arrested for Sex Abuse

CLACKAMAS, Ore.

Police added new sex abuse charges to a peeping Tom suspect in Damascus.

Neighbors on Thursday tackled the man suspected of peeping into a teenage girl’s window, and deputies were trying to determine if it was not the first time.

Clackamas deputies arrested 43-year-old Paul Cameron Klinck for invasion of privacy and were able to find “items of evidence” during a search of his home. On Saturday, he was also charged with encouraging child sex abuse.

Thursday morning around 2 a.m. Clackamas County deputies said an intuitive mother alerted her husband after finding a man looking into their 14-year-old daughter's bedroom window.

They also alerted a neighbor who deputies say caught the man in the act, and got into a scuffle trying to hold him until police arrived.

The alleged victim told investigators that they suspected a peeping Tom had been in the neighborhood for the past year or so.

The neighbor who helped tackle the suspect suffered minor injuries in the fight.

Child Abuse

What is not fully understood by parents that beat their children, some of the physical scars will disappear but the mental scars will linger on. A lot of parents believe in child discipline; especially when it is done properly and with the best intentions. A lot of parents do not believe in physically hitting someone who does not have the ability to defend themselves against someone that is approaching them with an object that can do physical damage.

When disciplining children, please note that there are other methods used today that does not require physical contact and are just as effective if used properly:

Time Outs (only in certain situations)
Children contracts with parents
Taking away something that the child is very fond of for a period of time
Limiting the child’s play time with friends
Taking their television time away
Giving the child an earlier bedtime than normal
Having the child to do extra chores around the house
Having a teen to do volunteer work for a center
Having a teen to assist a neighbor that needs assistance
Talk the problem through with the child
Parents understand that talking does not always help, but it’s a start. One point to remember; follow through on whatever consequence the child is to receive. If you don’t follow through, the child will learn to ignore the threat of being disciplined and continue to test the waters.

The four major types of abuse to children are:

Emotional
Neglect
Physical
Sexual:
Emotional is behavior that weakens a child’s emotional development or a sense of self-worth such as calling the child a bad name (stupid, dumb, idiot), rejecting the child, not loving the child or not giving the child proper support.

Neglect is failure to provide the basic needs for children suchas food, medical, a place to sleep, education, exposure to domesticviolence, and not responding to a child’s emotional needs. These factors do not necessarily mean that a child has been neglected. They could come from a home environment where poverty and community care is an issue and proper information and resources are needed.

Physical injury such as beating, shaking, choking, hitting the child with an object, or kicking are forms of physical abuse whether the person intended to harm the child or not.

Sexual consists of incest, indecent exposure, rape, fondling of the child’s genitals, sodomy and exposing a child to pornography.

Parents and caregivers must remember that abuse to a child has short and long term affects such as aggressive behavior, learning disorders, the child becoming anti-social, depression, and brain

damage if a child is hit upside the head. As the child gets older they may experiment with drugs or become an abuser of drugs and alcohol, have criminal behavior, and of course there’s teen pregnancy.

Jorge Puente-Sanchez Arrested for Child Abuse

Jorge Puentes-Sanchez, 20, faces assault and child abuse charges.

The criminal complaint states that he pulled a gun on his wife in front of his two young sons and then pulled the trigger. Fortunately, the chamber was empty.

Both men are out of jail on bond.

Loren Baca Charged with Child Abuse

A Albuquerque father was in court Saturday to face charges of child abuse.

Loren Baca, 33, is charged with assault and child abuse.

He's accused of hitting his three kids over the head with a cake pan, and then taking his family on a scary, drunken ride to Chuck-E-Cheese.

His frightened wife called police from the restroom.

Officers arrested Baca at the restaurant.

He is free on bond

David Anthony Tyre Arrested for Murder

A Spartanburg man has been charged with homicide by child abuse and child abuse with great bodily harm following the death of a ten year old girl.

The arrest warrant says David Anthony Tyre, 31, shook the young child and dropped her on her head.

Tyre is being held in the Spartanburg County Detention Center with no bond listed according to the jail website.

The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office and the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office are jointly investigating the death of Meah Danielle Weidner, 10, of Boiling Springs.

A deputy was called to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center on July 5 for a possible child abuse case. The incident report says Tyre, who is the boyfriend of the mother of the child, said he told the woman Meah was having a seizure.

The deputy says multiple bruises to her body and head were found and it was learned the girl suffered a fractured arm two weeks earlier.

Weidner died on July 7 and another SCSO incident report says Tyre admitted he did break the girl’s arm after originally saying she fell out of bed. The report says Tyre told the deputy and other law officials that “I must have shaken her too hard” following Weidner’s death.

The SCSO incident report lists the cause of death as “brain injuries,“ but the manner of death will be announced once toxicology studies are complete according to Coroner Rusty Clevenger.

The child abuse with great bodily harm charge against Tyre is related to her fractured arm in June.

Chief John Hall of Hilltop Fire Department confirms Tony Tyre was a volunteer firefighter with the department up until this week when he resigned “citing personal reasons”.

Tyre had been with the department since 2002.

Hall says Tyre was “a good firefighter, always showed up to calls and performed his job well”.

Antonio Glenwood Byrd Trial for Murdering 2-year-old Begins

The state is set to begin its case today in Lillington against a man accused of murdering a 2-year-old Anderson Creek girl.

Antonio Glenwood Byrd, 26, also of Anderson Creek, is charged with first-degree murder in connection with the July 2007 death of Miracle McLean.

Mr. Byrd, the boyfriend of Miracle's mother Sheteka McDougald, was charged after he took the unresponsive child to the Anderson Creek Fire Station saying she had drowned.

An autopsy later showed the child had suffered blunt force trauma to the head and abdomen. The autopsy linked the child's death to the latter injuries saying she had bled to death internally.

The autopsy also said the child was also recovering from a fractured right shoulder at the time of her death.

Mr. Byrd was offered a plea deal in May, but turned down the 114-month active sentence.

Mr. Byrd's attorney, Tony Buzzard, said both Mr. Byrd and his girlfriend were at work the night of the incident and said Miracle and her 3-year-old sister were in the care of a family member when the child's injuries occurred.

Assistant District Attorneys Davis Weddle and Teresa Postel are handling the prosecution of the case. Wake County Superior Court Judge Ripley Rand is presiding.

Rolland Bay Arrested for Child Molestation

A 47-year-old Rochester man was arrested on child molestation charges Saturday morning following a two-week investigation by Indiana State Police.

Indiana State Police Detective Brian Dormer began investigating Rolland D. Bay, of 4859 Boicourt Drive, two weeks ago when a woman reported that her 12-year-old son had allegedly been molested by Bay.

Police investigations revealed that Bay had purportedly molested the boy several time since 2006, and Bay was taken into custody at his home without incident Saturday.

Bay was served a Fulton Superior Court arrest warrant alleging two class A felony charges and one class C felony charge of child molesting. He is incarcerated in the Fulton Couny Jail this morning with a $100,000 bond.

Master Trooper Randy Shaver and officers from the Fulton County Sheriff's department assisted Detective Dormer in serving the arrest warrant.

Juan Guzman Vega Arrested for Sexually Assaulting 13-year-old

A man remained in Bexar County Jail on Saturday on an allegation that he sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl at a pool on the city’s North Side, authorities said.

Juan Guzman Vega befriended the teen while she was at the pool with her mother Thursday evening at the apartment complex where they live in the 4600 block of Vance Jackson Road, an arrest warrant affidavit stated.

The teen told police that Vega, 21, groped her body beneath her bikini several times and did not stop when she asked him to, the report says.

Vega then pulled the teen to the pool’s deep end, where he proceeded to sexually assault the girl, the warrant alleges.

Vega told police the girl initiated sexual contact and that he did not know her age, the report states. Vega was in custody in lieu of $100,000 bond.

Emily Housley Arrested for Sexual Assault

A former Fort Worth teacher faces charges after being accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student.

Police picked up 29-year-old Emily Housley last night from her mother's home in Saginaw.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that Housley -- a married mother of two -- is facing a charge of sexual assault of a child.

Housley recently resigned from North Side High School after being caught with the 16-year-old boy. The teen's mother contacted police on Monday after her son admitted he and Housley had been having sex.

Joseph Michael Graber III Arrested for Posssession of Child Porn

A borough man was charged Friday with possessing child pornography on his home computer as well as endangering the welfare of children.

Joseph Michael Graber III, 39, was arrested Friday morning after officers raided his Blackfoot Trail home and found sexually explicit photographs and videos of children on a computer hard drive, police said. Equipment that included a desktop and laptop computer and unspecified media related to the case was seized.

Graber also is suspected of distributing an explicit photo to a person he believed to be a juvenile girl. Police did not specify what the photo showed or depicted or identify the person who sent the image.

Graber was charged with endangering the welfare of children, possessing child pornography and promoting obscene material. He was sent to Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly in lieu of $102,500 bail.

The case was investigated by Sgt. Darren Dogostino with assistance from the New Jersey State Police's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

David Burnett Arrested for Child Porn

A Sewickley Township man charged with more than 200 counts relating to child pornography is being held in the Westmoreland County Prison.

David Burnett, 21, of 296 Sutersville Road, faces charges of sexual abuse of children, dissemination of child pornography, computer trespass, criminal use of a communication facility and unlawful use of a computer.

Charges were filed July 2 by Greensburg Sgt. Robert Jones, a member of the state police Area III Computer Crimes Task Force. In addition, Westmoreland County detectives charged Burnett with statutory sexual abuse, aggravated indecent assault and criminal coercion.

Jeannette District Judge Joseph DeMarchis set a $25,000 bond for Burnett.

According to a criminal complaint filed by Jones, Burnett uploaded sexually explicit pictures of a 15-year-old Jeannette girl into a Myspace Web page. Burnett allegedly photographed the victim with his mobile phone between Jan. 19, 2008 and July 24, 2008, coercing her to perform sexual acts, according to the complaint.

"Burnett used ... access to her personal account to attempt to psychologically control the victim," the complaint read. "He would threaten her that he would disseminate the aforementioned sexually explicit photographs through her Myspace account to attempt to get her to do what he wanted."

A search warrant was served April 6 on Burnett's residence, during which police seized two computers and Burnett's mobile phone.

A forensic analysis of the phone recovered 10 photographs and eight movie files of Burnett and the victim engaged in sexual acts. The complaint alleges Burnett posted four explicit photographs of the victim on her Myspace account.

A preliminary hearing for Burnett will be held July 23 before DeMarchis.

How many people have suffered sexual abuse as children?

It is estimated that between 20 – 40 percent of women and 2 – 9 percent of boys are sexually abused by the age of 18. These are conservative estimates since many people never tell.

What is child sexual abuse?

Child sexual abuse is any sexual behavior directed toward a child who has power over that child, and uses this power for self-gratification. It is very different from normal sexual curiosity. It can include things such as masturbation, intercourse, fondling, oral sex, and anal or vaginal penetration with objects. Other forms of sexual abuse that don’t involve physical contact are exhibitionism, leering, and suggestiveness.

Who are the abusers?

Almost always perpetrators are someone the victim knows well; someone they love and trust (think teachers, neighbors, coaches, pastors, and relatives). That’s why it is so confusing and so damaging. Often some things that the abuser offers may seem good (touch, feelings of specialness, gifts, attention, etc). The parts that seem good leave the victim feeling as if she/he asked for, deserved, or wanted it. Therefore, she/he is filled with shame, so she keeps the secret quiet. This is exactly how the perpetrator grooms his/her victim. Also, if there is one victim, there are usually many many more! Most perpetrators don't stop, they just get sneakier.

David Cuspilich Arrested for Sexual Assault

A Delanco man was arrested Thursday on charges of sexually assaulting a girl multiple times over a period of several years, the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office announced.

David Cuspilich, 37, of Spruce Street, was charged with two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, three counts of second-degree sexual assault and two counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of children, according to Prosecutor Robert D. Bernardi and Delanco police Lt. George N. Sacalis.

If convicted on all counts, Cuspilich could receive a life sentence.

Authorities allege the assaults occurred over a six-year period beginning when the victim was 9. Because of the nature of the charges and the need to protect the victim's identity, the prosecutor's office did not release any further information.

Cuspilich, a mortgage broker, made his first appearance in Superior Court on Friday before Judge Patricia R. LeBon. She lowered his bail from $150,000 to $100,000 after hearing from his defense attorney, John Sitzler.

Sitzler said Cuspilich has no prior record, is a lifelong resident of Burlington County, owns property here, and has strong family ties to the area. He said the defendant's family could make the $100,000 bail.

"He has a reputation for honesty and integrity in the community," Sitzler said. He also told Cuspilich, who appeared by closed-circuit television from Burlington County Jail, to not discuss the case with anyone but him.

Assistant Prosecutor Jennifer Stonerod said the bail range for the charges was between $150,000 and $300,000. She argued for the bail to remain at $150,000 because of the seriousness of the charges and the proofs of the case.

LeBon lowered the bail after citing Cuspilich's lack of a record and ties to the county. She ordered him to have no contact with the victim and no unsupervised contact with minors.

The prosecutor's office's Sexual Assault/Child Abuse Unit and the Delanco Police Department conducted the investigation, which authorities said is still ongoing.

James Anthony Acres Arrested for Beating & Burning Two Children

An Oneida man faces two counts of aggravated child abuse after allegedly returning two children left in his care beaten and burned.

Scott County authorities say James Anthony Acres, 27, deliberately burned a 22-month-old boy and beat a 6-year-old boy with mental and physical disabilities to the point of brain damage.

The boys' mother left them in Acres' care Tuesday, Scott County Sheriff's Department Detective Ricky Jeffers wrote in an arrest warrant. She returned to pick them up and found the 22-month-old with second- and third-degree burns on his face, back, arms and legs, according to the warrant. Court records describe the abuse as "torture."

The 6-year-old had "visible injuries" to his face, chin, arm and foot. A hospital visit revealed a head injury, internal bleeding and a brain contusion, the warrant states.

Acres became "agitated, defensive and aggressive," when questioned about the injuries and told inconsistent, illogical stories about how they happened, authorities said. Deputies arrested Acres on Thursday. A judge set his bond at $1 million.

The child murder epidemic: Deaths as shocking and avoidable as Baby P's happen every single week

As a nation, we became obsessed with the case of Baby P. We winced at the details of his unbelievably cruel death at the hands of his mother and her vicious boyfriend.

We were angered by the failure of social services to protect this innocent little boy from harm.

If there was any consolation in the outcry that followed, it was the thought that, in 21st-century Britain, such cases were rare. But this is a dangerously mistaken impression.

Sadly, there was nothing out of the ordinary about the ordeal of Baby P, or of eight-year-old Victoria Climbie - another notorious case of violence and neglect ten years earlier.
Deaths every bit as terrible as theirs take place nearly every week in this country, largely unnoticed and unreported.

The numbers are rising all the time, as a unique survey carried out for the Channel 4 Dispatches programme reveals.

For six months, researchers trawled through social service inquiries and reports from courts and inquests up and down the country.
The Freedom of Information Act had to be invoked to get some councils to release key documents.

In the end, we uncovered a total of 183 child killings between 2004 and 2008 attributed to a parent, a parent's partner or a carer.

In 2004, there were 29. The number doubled to 55 in 2007. The trend is upwards; shamingly so.

For a supposedly civilised society, the statistics make chilling reading . Two-thirds of the 183 victims were under five.

A third were less than a year old. Most were beaten to death, stabbed, smothered or strangled.
In nearly three-quarters of the cases, the killers were either the child's mother or father (and on rare occasions both).

One-fifth of deaths involved the mother's partner or new boyfriend. Men were twice as likely to kill as women.

But look behind the figures to the reality of these tortured lives and the picture that emerges is almost Dickensian in its horror.

For example, James Howson placed his 16-month-old daughter Amy - already skeletal from under-nourishment - across his knee and pressed down so hard he broke her back.

A mortem revealed 40 other wounds inflicted on her in the four weeks before her death, including six fractures to her arms and legs.

Howson had progressed from wife beating to child-beating - a not unusual phenomenon.

There were warning signs that, had they been picked up, might have prevented these deaths He had been expelled from school for violence, with a warning from a teacher that 'this boy will commit murder'.
