Gene Labrie Pleads Guilty to Possession of Child Porn

A Rochester man pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography in U.S. District Court Monday.

Gene Labrie, 49, pleaded guilty following his arrest in connection to an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigations. The FBI obtained information that Labrie had purchased the pornography from overseas; when his computer was searched, hundreds of images were found.

Labrie faces up to 10 years in federal prison when he is sentenced on Oct. 19, and also faces the possibility of probation for life.

The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide effort to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse, which was launched in May 2006 by the U.S. Department of Justice. More information is available at
